The Civil Affairs Board of Tbilisi City Court considered the lawsuit of G.G. - an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, against the TV company "Formula".
The court dispute refers to the reports aired by Formula TV in January and March 2021, where it was mentioned that the employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, G.G. during the curfew, used a vehicle with a service registration plate to escort the vehicles of people involved in prostitution and ensure their safe movement.
The court confirmed that the "Skoda" vehicle was never operated by G.G. and did not transport sex workers during the curfew. Moreover, at the time indicated in the story, G.G. was not in a specific place at all. Despite the mentioned, according to the decision of Tbilisi City Court as of December 10, 2024, the claim of G.G. was not satisfied.
The court pointed out that the officials have an obligation to be patient, the controversial story is uncomfortable for the plaintiff, although it is not harmful, which is why the court refused to satisfy the claim.
The employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs disagrees with the decision made by the court and the dispute will continue in the higher instances.
