Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to respond to the reports aired on “Formula” and “TV Pirveli” TV companies, where police officers are still targeted with false accusations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is being deliberately discredited.
In the story of the TV company "Formula", the police are accused of providing protection for prostitution without any substantiation and evidence. The author tells the story assertively, here is the quote from their own story - "The police protect prostitution."
In today’s report, the commentary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was interpreted as if the police car had anything to do with the report prepared by them.
Despite the fact that they were provided with relevant information last week, before the report was released that the persons exposed by them were not employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they continued to spread false information.
Deliberate discreditation was also noticeable in a report prepared by TV Pirveli, in particular, they assertively accused the patrol-inspector of smuggling drugs, published his photo and provided information to the public as if the Ministry of Internal Affairs possessed the information on drug-related activities of the mentioned person and made no response.
Herewith, the public was provided with an absurd version asserting that a police officer, who was arrested last week by the General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the charges of the abuse of power was allegedly related to the patrol inspector named in a report of “TV Pirveli”.
Minister of Internal Affairs in his comment, made for the journalist of "TV Pirveli", clarified that the mentioned patrol - inspector named by the TV company has never been arrested or suspended due to drug trafficking. After the commentary, Press Service of the Agency additionally explained to the story author that provided information was false.
Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to underline that the agency actively responds to each violation, including the argumentative and confirmed information spread by the media.
