Kutaisi Police Division of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received report on October 13 of the current year that poster on the office window of “European Georgia”, located on Queen Tamar Avenue, Kutaisi was damaged by unknown persons. The report was filed by Otar Kakhidze, Kutaisi majoritarian candidate of the “European Georgia” political party.
Law enforcers made rapid response on the received information and launched investigation on the fact of damage or destruction of other’s property, crime envisaged under the article 187, I part of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
On the basis of operative and investigative activities, police exposed previously convicted person – M.G. (DoB 1981) who threw a brick to the poster on the office window and damaged the property. Police also established that property damage has been assessed in the amounted of 80 GEL.
As a result of investigative activities held by the law enforcers, it was established that action committed by the exposed person did not contain signs of criminal offence. Case files have been transferred to Kutaisi City Court on October 16 of the current year to consider the committed action as administrative violation.
The Kutaisi City Court qualified the action committed by M.G. under the article 166 envisaged by the Code of Administrative Offenses, which implies minor hooliganism. The court discussed the committed action and issued a verbal notice against M.G.
