Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, conducts the investigation of the incident that took place on August 14 in one of the hotels located in Batumi quarantine zone, under the article 115 envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
Various types of investigative activities have already been carried out within the frames of the ongoing investigation, including the interrogation of up to 10 people linked to the incident and seizure of F.J.'s personal belongings. Different types of examinations have already been appointed.
At this moment, it has been established that on August 14, P.J (DoB 1993) was accommodated in one of the hotel rooms along with his friend Sh.T. with the aim to undergo mandatory quarantine.
It was ascertained that P.J. behaved inadequately and aggressively, at this point for unknown reasons. In particular, he left his hotel room, went out into the hallway, made noise and damaged hotel inventory, thus, violated quarantine rules.
According to the information gathered by the investigation, Sh.T. tried to calm P.J. He was also requested by the Security Police and hotel employees to observe the established rules. Despite the afore mentioned, P.J. ignored their requests and thus, hotel administration had to call police and ambulance for assistance.
Police officers of Adjara Police Department, who arrived at the site, called on P.J. to keep calm and maintain order and even offered their help if needed. After the conversation with the law enforcers, P.J. calmed down, adhered to police request and decided to go back to the hotel room and went to the mentioned direction, however, unexpectedly he turned back and jumped from the fourth floor to the side of the hotel yard.
At this stage, P.J. is undergoing treatment at Tbilisi University Clinic.
