On March 18, the officers of Imereti Police Department, as a result of immediate operative-search and investigative activities detained several times convicted in past Sh.L. (DoB 1990) for armed robbery.
Investigation established that detainee, under the pressure of the firearm, appropriated cash from the cashier-operator of “Magniti” grocery store located in the town of Vani.
Law enforcers placed the detainee in temporary detention isolator, where Sh.L. attempted to commit suicide on which the Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched investigation under the article 115 implying the incitement to suicide. The detainee was transferred to the treatment facility, however, unfortunately, medical staff was unable to recover him.
The criminal case launched on the fact of incitement to suicide has already been forwarded to the State Inspector’s Office for ensuring further investigation.
