The Ministry of Internal Affairs represents an agency responsible for ensuring public safety and order. During the demonstrations planned for today, the Ministry will insure public safety and order as well as the freedom of expression of everyone, which does not exceed legal frames.
At the same time, police is also protecting the right to peaceful assembly and manifestation guaranteed by the Constitution of Georgia in accordance with the Georgian Law on Assembly and Manifestation. It is prohibited to block the entrances of a legislative body as well as to interfere with the activities thereof.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, as the body responsible for the protection of public order, calls on every citizen, organizers of the demonstration as well as participants to protect order and obey legal requests of Police. Any fact of Offense, as well as any attempt of storming or blocking of administrative buildings during the demonstration wIl be immediately stopped by the Police.
Police forces are mobilized on one hand in order to protect the rights of expression and safety of citizens during assembly and manifestation and on the other hand to ensure uninterrupted functioning of state institutions.
