On October 2, during the unsanctioned protest rally held in front of Tbilisi City Hall, Major candidate of one of the political parties as well as members of the aforementioned party and supporters attempted to break into the administrative building of Tbilisi City Hall. Patricipants of the protest rally also blocked the road, thus paralyzing the traffic movement on Kostava Avenue.
Officers of Patrol Police and Tbilisi Police Department have been mobilized on the territory of the City Hall for public order and safety reasons.
Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs acted in full compliance of the requirements of law, repeatedly called the violators to preserve order and requested to un-block the road, however, the protesters did not obey to the rightful request and offered resistance to police. Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 6 citizens for the crime envisaged by the Administrative Code of Offences, namely under the article 166 and 173.
