Employees of the Central Criminal Police, Patrol Police, Tbilisi, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Ajara and Guria Police Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of complex operational measures and investigative actions, arrested 10 people on charges of drug crimes.
On the facts of illegal acquisition and possession of a large and especially large amount of narcotic drugs, as well as illegal acquisition and possession of marijuana, attempts to purchase and storing of marijuana, the following persons were detained: B.S. (DoB 1987), I.S. (DoB 1993), I.S. (DoB 1977) G.L. (DoB 2005), N.D. (DoB 2006), G.O. (DoB 1968), E.M. (DoB 1978), A.S. (DoB 1996), A. A. (DoB 2002) and A.H. (DoB 2001).
Among the arrestees are the citizens of Georgia, Belarus and Israel.
The committed crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
As a result of operational and investigative measures conducted by the law enforcement officers across the country, large and especially large amounts of narcotic drugs, as well as a large amount of cash, materials necessary for handling drugs and an electric scale were seized as evidence from the locations specified by the accused person, as well as during the search of the detainees' personal transport and residential places.
As a result of the operation conducted by the employees of the Central Criminal Police Department, together with the employees of the Security Protection Regime Department under the State Security Service, A.H. was detained in Tbilisi, from whom, as a result of the search activities held in detainee’s house law enforcers seized 440 "Ecstasy" pills as evidence as well as "cannabis", "marijuana" and "hashish".
As a result of investigative activities conducted in Fonichala, the employees of Detectives Main Division and the Main Investigation Division of Tbilisi Police Department arrested 2 persons - E.M. and A.S. During the personal search and asearch activities held in residential houses of the defendants, the law enforcement officers seized as evidence 18 packages of raw narcotics weighing up to 3 kilograms, 97,350 US dollars, 6,080 GEL and 2,790,000 Russian rubles.
Employees of Tbilisi Main Division of Patrol Police Department arrested the probationer - G.L. and N.D. in Gldani-Nadzaladevi district. As a result of the personal search of the defendants, the law enforcement officers seized 31 packages of narcotics, the so-called bio drugs.
The employees of Vake-Saburtalo Police Main Division detained A.A. in Tbilisi for the attempted selling of marijuana. During his personal search, 4 packages of marijuana were seized as evidence.
B.sh. and I.N. were arrested by Adjara Police Department employees for drug related crimes.During the search activities narcotic drug cocaine, marijuana, cash, materials needed for packaging narcotic drug, electric scale, signal pistol and 9 cartridges were seized as evidence.
The employees of Guria Police Department detained G.O. in Ozurgeti municipality. As a result of the personal search of the accused person, the law enforcement officers seized the narcotic drug "Suboxin" and "Amphetamine" as evidence.
The investigation is being conducted under articles 260, 19-260, 273 (1) and 19-273 (1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
