The officers of Samtredia Regional Division of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities on the fact of robbery detained two individuals, namely, G.T. (DoB: 1989) previously convicted for robbery and theft and G.Ch. (DoB: 1986). The crime committed envisages imprisonment from 6 to 12 years in length.
The investigation established that on February 14, 2018, in the village Didi Jikhaishi, Samtredia region, the offenders assaulted with knives the house of one of the citizens; under the pressure and violence they appropriated money, golden jewelry and fled from the crime scene.
The law enforcers managed to detain both offenders in 2 days after the incident. During the search activities held in the offenders` houses the police seized masks, knives and ammunition.
The law enforcers seized illegally appropriated golden jewelry from one of the pawn shops as material evidences.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of robbery (part 2 and part 3 of the article 179 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
