Employees of Guria Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, along with Prosecutor's Ozurgeti Regional Office, as a result of complex operational measures and investigative actions, arrested 2 persons in connection with the " Thieves World" based on the judge's decision.
G.I. (DoB 1999), nicknamed “java”, previously convicted, was arrested for the membership of “Thieves World" while N.K. (DoB 2001), convicted multiple times in the past, was arrested for supporting “Thieves world” activities.
Crime committed envisions punishment up to 10 years.
The investigation established that the victim C.M. won a large amount of money through one of the online casinos, which became known to the defendants. G.I. and N.K., in order to gain material benefits and to strengthen their power in the "thieves' world", organized a "criminal skirmish" for C.M., which was attended by his relative R.A.
One of the defendants, G.I., involved the "thief in law" D.E. And as a result of the "thieves' decision", C.M. was ordered to pay 5,000 GEL within a certain period of time, which was later paid by R.A.
The investigation is being conducted in accordance with the first part of Article 223 and the second part of Article 223 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
