The officers of the Border Police under the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained two citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, U. T. (DoB 1998) and E.M. (DoB 1989).
The mentioned individuals are accused of illegal crossing of the state border committed in group, as well as illegal purchase, storage and import of a large amount of drugs.
The committed crime envisions from 15 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
The investigation established that the accused persons had illegally crossed the Georgian state border from the Republic of Azerbaijan, bypassing the border checkpoint, and illegally imported more than 10 kilograms of heroin.
Investigation is in progress under Article 344, Part II, Subparagraph “A” , Article 260, Part III, Subparagraph “B” and part VI, Subparagraph “A”, Article 262, Part II, Sub-paragraph “B” and Part IV, sub-paragraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
