The officers of Samtskhe-Javakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-investigative measures and investigative activities, arrested previously convicted and currently on probation – G.K. (DoB 1975) in Borjomi for the attempted murder of a spouse under aggravating circumstances and domestic violence.
The committed crime envisions up to 20 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the accused individual verbally and physically assaulted his mother-in-law on May 1 of the current year in his home located in Borjomi and wounded his spouse - V.A., (DoB 1985) with a cold steel.
V.A. was taken to the hospital where she is receiving appropriate treatment.
Law enforcers arrested G.K. shortly after the incident. Police seized the weapon of crime - a knife as evidence.
Investigation on the fact of domestic violence and the attempted premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances committed against a family member is in progress under Article 11-109, Parts II and III as well as article 126(1) part II of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
