The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistical data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in April, 2016 amounted to 462 480 more by 17,2 % than the index of the same period in 2015.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific weight is the following:
a) Tourist – 171 235 visits (37% of general number; increase by 20 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit – 107 500 visits (23.3% of general number increase by 13.5% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other – 183 745 visits (39.7 % of general number, increase by 16.8 % in comparison with the same index of the last year).
As for the period from January to April 1 596 916 visitors entered the territory of Georgia that is more by 15.4 % than the index of the same reporting period in 2015.
The most of the visits in March, 2016 were paid again from Turkey (+12%), Azerbaijan (+17,6 %), Armenia (+8,7%), Russia (+26,7%) and Ukraine (+25.9 %). Also, positive position is retained by the EU countries: respecting the increase of the number of arrivals to Georgia in January-April period the following countries take the leading position: Italy, Latvia and France (relevantly 26%, 25% and 14%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (29%) and Uzbekistan (64%), among the countries of Easter Europe – Belarus (36%) and Moldova (36%), Middle East – Israel – (106%), UAE (141%).
