Tsotne Shengelia, the Head of Samtredia Firefighting-Rescue Unit of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of the MIA won the world championship in mixed martial arts in Budapest, Hungary.
The championship was participated by the sportsmen from 22 countries. Tsotne Shengelia competed in 85 kg category and won the champion's belt.
The world champion was met by Mr. Zviad Katsashvili, Director of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of the MIA and the firefighter-rescuers in Tbilisi International Airport.
Tsotne Shengelia is the champion of the 2012 World Cup and 2015 World Championship bronze medal winner in mixed martial arts. In 2014 he won the World Kickboxing Championship silver medal. Tsotne Shengelia is the champion of Georgia in freestyle wrestling and sambo. In 2002 he became the champion of Asia in freestyle wrestling.
