The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in October, 2014 amounted to 469 930 less by -2,4 % than the index of the same period in 2013.
As for January-October period, the number of visits to the country amounted to 4 657 525 - more by 1,7 % than the index of the same period in 2013.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:
a) Tourist - 1 932 492 visits (41,5 %, of general number; increase by 9 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit –938 667 visits (20,1 % of general number, decrease by -8% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other -1 786 366 visits ( 38,4 % of general number increase by -0,1% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in October, 2014 was paid again from Turkey (-11%), Azerbaijan (+7,8%), Armenia (+4%), Russia (+2%) and Ukraine (+13%). Also, positive tendency is preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January-Octomber period the following countries traditionally took the leading positiosn: Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, United Kingdom and Netherlands (relevantly - 83%, 32%, 23%, 12% and 10%). Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (37%), among the countries of Eastern Europe: citizens of Belarus with 49%.
