The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
In October 2017, 607 989 visitors arrived to Georgia which is more by 15,2% than the index of the same period in 2016.
In January-October period the number of visitors amounted to 6 430 824 which is more by 18,8% than the index of the same period in 2016, as for the number of tourists, it has amounted to 3 042 907 visits which is more by 28% than the index of the same period in 2016.
According to the new method of calculation, the number of visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia in October 2017 is the following:
a) Tourist – 259 313 (42.6%, of general number; increase by 24,8% in comparison with the index of the same period in 2016);
b) Transit –151 806 visits (25%, of general number, in comparison with the index of the last year the number increased by 29,9%);
c) Other – 196 870 visits (32,4% of general number, increase by 3,5% in comparison with the index of the last year).
The majority of the visits in October 2017, were paid from Armenia (+12,7%) Azerbaijan (+9,1%), Russia (+30,3%%) Turkey (+2,4%), Ukraine (+2,3%) and Iran (+76,8%); Positive tendencies are also retained by the EU states in January-October period. The following countries took leading positions: Great Britain, France, Germany, Latvia , Lithuania and Italy (40%, 30%, 29%, 21%, 17% and 17%), Near Esat -Israel (36%) Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan (17%), Uzbekistan (75%). In East European countries Belarus is leading with (28%). Herewith, the number of visitors from the United States has reached 25%.
