Ministers of Interior of Georgia and Greece have signed agreement on the fight against crime
Minister of Interior of Greece Nicholas Toskas, along with delegation visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia within the frames of the working visit. Greek colleague was met by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia –Giorgi Mgebrishvili.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili and Nicholas Toskas have signed agreement on cooperation in the fight against crime signed between the Governments of Georgia and Greece.
The international agreement provides for cooperation in the field of prevention, detection and foiling of organized crime, terrorism, narcotics and firearms, trafficking, human life and health, and other serious crimes.
As the parties noted after the signing ceremony, the agreement on cooperation in the fight against crime will greatly enhance the cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and the Hellenic Republic.
At the private meeting Giorgi Mgbrishvili and Nicholas Tosokas emphasized the importance of police attachs and joint working groups, discussed the priority directions of cooperation and set future plans.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia thanked the Greek counterpart for the strong support expressed by the Hellenic Republic during the visa liberalization process with the EU.
