As a result of the cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and police attache of Greece and productive activities carried out by Central Criminal Police attache of the MIA, the officers of Attiki regional police division of Greece managed to detain 5 Georgian citizens after 4 months of operative and investigative activities, who are accused of apartment burglaries. The detainees are as follows: the so called “thief in law” O.D. (DoB 1986) G.M. (DoB 1980, Z.KH. (DoB 1975) and G.G. (DoB 1977).
Investigation established that O.D. along his family member – Z.KH. and accomplices- G.M. and G.G. selected apartments in advance. Detainees obtained detailed information of the selected apartments and worked on it, which in the end, resulted in burglaries. Stolen items were sold afterwards. It was ascertained that detainees burglarized 35 apartments in total on the territory of Helenic Republic.
During the search activities held in detainees' houses policemen seized large amount of arms and items apprehended from the burglarized apartments.
Investigation is in progress under the article 372 and 374 of the Criminal Code of Greece.
