The Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Spain has already expressed its consent to the signing of the Agreement and posted information about the said decision on the official website of the President and the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Spain.
After the entry into force of the Agreement, holders of a valid driving permit issued by the parties will be able to obtain the equivalent driving permit in the state of their legal residence without passing a theoretical or practical test.
The Agreement defines the categories and classes of driving permits that will be subject to exchange after the Agreement enters into force, namely the exchange of AM, A1, A2, A, B, B+E driving permits will be possible without passing theoretical or practical exams, and as for the C1, C1+E, C, C+E, D1, D1+E, D and D+E driving permits, applicants will have to pass a driving test on roads open to general traffic, using a vehicle or set of vehicles the driving of which is authorized by said permits.
