Georgia and the Kingdom of Sweden work on law enforcement cooperation agreement, which the parties will sign in the nearest future.
The mentioned agreement will be the 16th agreement signed in recent years between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the EU member states in the field of police cooperation.
For this purpose, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is visited by the representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Police and Customs Service of the Kingdom of Sweden. The members of the delegation had meetings with Mr. Archil Talakvadze, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, representatives of the International Relations
Department of MIA, the State Security Service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Finance of Georgia. The meeting was also attended by H.E. Mrs. Martina Quick, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden in Georgia.The parties discussed in details the text of the “Agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden on law enforcement cooperation” and harmonized its provisions. At the end of the negotiations, the minute of the meeting was signed.
This Agreement will strengthen the law enforcement cooperation between Georgia and the Kingdom of Sweden and promote fight against organized crime.
