Georgia and the Kingdom of Sweden are working on a cooperation agreement in law enforcement field, which will be signed in the near future.
The agreement in the field of police cooperation will be the 16th, which will be concluded by the MIA of Georgia with EU countries during last years.
To this aim, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, police and customs service of the Kingdom of Sweden visited the MIA. Delegation members met Deputy Minister – Mr. Archil Talakvadze, as well as representatives of the International Relations Department of the MIA, the State Security Service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. The meeting also was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Georgia – Ms. Martina Quick.
The Parties reviewed text of the “Agreement between Government of Georgia and the Kingdom of Sweden on Cooperation in law enforcement Field” and completely agreed its provisions. At the end of negotiations Minutes were signed.
The Agreement will support strengthening cooperation between Georgia and the Kingdom of Sweden and fight against organized crime.
