As a result of jointly conducted operational measures and investigative actions, the employees of Investigation Department of Adjara Police Main Division of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service under the Ministry of Finance, detained 6 foreign citizens on the facts of illegal crossing of the Georgian state border and illegal transportation of a migrant across the Georgian state border.
The investigation established that a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, S.O. (DoB 1981), drove a truck under, as well as citizens of the Republic of Turkey: O.F. (DoB 2002), T.Ch. (DoB 1988), S.I. (DoB 1985), H.O. (DoB 1989), and A.Q. (DoB 1987). Bypassing the border checkpoint "Sarpi", they secretly and illegally crossed into the territory of Georgia.
The police arrested all six of them on the territory of the border checkpoint.
The committed crime envisions from 4 to 8 years of imprisonment.
The investigation is underway under Article 344 Part II of the Criminal Code and Part II of Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
