In Borjomi-Kharagauli national park, near to Abastumani, fire-extinguishing activities are held in round-the-clock regime.
More than 1000 employees of the Emergency Situations Management Agency, Special Tasks Department and Agency of Protected Areas are involved in fire-extinguishing activities. 5 km length new road has already been made, enabling special technic to reach the fire pockets.
From the early morning Border Police helicopter, as well as helicopters of “Tusheti” company were involved in the fire-extinguishing activities. On the afternoon, Ukrainian rescue plane also joined the operation. Azerbaijani and Turkish helicopters have already arrived to Georgia for the assistance. One more helicopter and rescue plane will be sent by the Turkish Republic tomorrow.
In total, dozens of special technic, live force and 7 units of the air force are involved in the fire-extinguishing works.
