The officers of Bolnisi Police Division of Kvemo Kartli Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained R.Sh. (DoB 2001) as a result of operative-investigative activities for water contamination.
The committed crime envisages up to one year of imprisonment.
The investigation established that on June 30 of the current year, the accused person threw a large amount of polyethylene bottles into the river Ktsia located in Bolnisi Municipality and thus contaminated the river. Video footage depicting the fact was spread on various social networks.
Law enforcers were soon able to identify the offender and arrested him as an accused person in Bolnisi.
Investigation is in progress under Article 292 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
