Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia earned 14 medals including, 6 gold and 8 silver medals at “World Police and Fire Games 2017” held in Los Angeles, California, United States.
Winners were met at Tbilisi International Airport by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Davit Vardiashvili, directors of various MIA Departments, employees of the Ministry and their family members who congratulated MIA sportsmen with their success.
At “World Police and Fire Games 2017” wich was held in the United States of America, 11 MIA employees competed in judo, free wrestling, boxing, swimming and weight-lifting.
Gold medal owners: free wrestling-Ioseb Khutsishvili, Luka Kurtanidze and Beldukh Gavashelishvili, weight-lifting-Levan Giligashvili and vasil Mindorashvili, swimming-Giorgi Samarghanishvili.
Silver medal owners: swimming-Giorgi Berdzenishvili (4 silver medals), boxing-Eduard Imerlishvili, weight-lifting -Koba Kobakhidze, Judo-Nodar Mtchedlishvili and Aleqsi Davitashvili.
“World Police and Fire Games 2017” was held in Los Angeles, California on 7-16 August. The mentioned international sporting event is traditionally held every two years in different countries. Thousands of active and former police officers from around 80 countries participate in the event and compete in up to 70 sports types.
