The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the operational measures and investigative actions conducted in recent period, seized illegal firearms and ammunition in Tbilisi and the regions of the country - 13 people were arrested, and 1 person exposed.
Employees of the Patrol Police Department detained a citizen of a foreign country E.A. born in 1999 in Tbilisi. Patrol inspectors stopped E.A. while driving for the purpose of inspection. As a result of the search conducted by law enforcement officers, a firearm, a cartridge and 3 magazines were removed as evidence.
Employees of the Vake-Saburtalo police division of Tbilisi Police Department detained 2 persons: R.Sh. (DoB 2002) and G. Ch. (DoB 1984). As a result of the search conducted by law enforcement officers, 2 fire pistols, a cartridge and 9 magazines were seized as evidence.
The employees of Didube-Chugureti Police Main Division of Tbilisi Police Department, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions conducted at different times, detained S.M. (DoB 1997), R.I. (DoB 1995) and G. Sh. (DoB 1976), who was convicted many times in the past.
During the search of detainees’ private house and car, the law enforcement officers seized two firearms and 16 magazines as evidence.
As a result of operational measures and investigative activities carried out at different times, the employees of the investigative division of Kakheti Police Department and Lagodekhi regional division arrested 2 persons - R.V. (DoB 1987) and G.A. (DoB 1988), convicted in the past arrested. During the search of detainees’ residence and storage room, the law enforcement officers seized an automatic firearm, a pistol, a sawed-off hunting rifle, 105 magazines, 2 cartridges and narcotic drug "Marijuana" as evidence.
The employees of Poti city and Tsalenjikh district police divisions of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions conducted at different times detained T.K. (DoB 1965) and exposed a person born in 1992.
As a result of the search conducted by law enforcement officers, 2 pistols of different models and 9 magazines were recovered as evidence.
The employees of Batumi City Police Division of Adjara Police Department arrested the citizen of a foreign country N.R. born in 2001. As a result of the search conducted in detainee’s temporary residence in Batumi, law enforcement officers seized a pistol as evidence.
The employees of detectives division of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department detained 2 persons: G.T. (DoB 1973) and J.G. (DoB 1972). As a result of the search of detainees’ car and residential houses, 3 firearms and 73 magazines were seized as evidence.
As a result of investigative actions, the employees of the investigation department of Shida Kartli police department detained T.M., (DoB 1986) who was convicted in the past. As a result of the personal search of the accused, the law enforcement officers seized a firearm, a cartridge and 6 magazines as evidence.
Zhinvali police officers of Dusheti regional division under Mtskheta-Mtianeti police department arrested 1 person as a result of operational measures and investigative actions.
As a result of the search of the residence of R.C. (DoB 1992), law enforcement officers found the so-called cut gun and 19 magazines.
The committed crime envisions the imprisonment from 3 to 7 years.
The facts of illegal purchase-storage-carrying of firearms and ammunition and illegal purchase-storage of narcotic drugs are being investigated under Articles 236 and 273 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
