In the village of Zhoneti, Tskaltubo municipality the protest rally against the construction of “Namakhvan” power plant is being held. Police are mobilized to ensure security and rule of law on the ground.
During the rally, the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stopped two vehicles. From one of the vehicles a registered Winchester model firearm and a sniper rifle were seized, while from the other vehicle baseball bat and a blunt object, the so-called "bludgeon".
After removing the firearms and other items, police explained to the owners that the seized items would be returned after the protest rally was over.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on the protesters to obey the lawful demands of the police.
