The officers of Guria Police Department Detectives Division, as a result of operative-investigative activities, detained an Israeli citizen with a temporary residence status in Georgia - I.A. (DoB 1954) in the village of Tskhemliskhidi, Ozurgeti Municipality. The mentioned person is accused of inflicting severe body injuries on purpose.
The committed crime envisions from 3 to 6 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that on February 12 of the current year, in the village of Dvabzu, Ozurgeti Municipality, the defendant physically assaulted the former owner of his newly purchased house – B.S. (DoB 1958), during the confrontation, stabbed him and fled the crime scene afterwards.
The injured man was taken to the clinic where he underwent appropriate medical treatment.
The law enforcers, as a result of operative-search and investigative activities, arrested I.A shortly after the incident. During the personal search of the detainee, policemen seized the weapon of the crime - a knife as evidence.
The fact of inflicting severe body injuries on purpose is being investigated under Article 117, Part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
