The employees of Guria Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Central Criminal Police Department and Vake-Saburtalo Police Main Division of Tbilisi Police Department, as a result of joint operative-search and investigative measures, detained several times convicted in past V.G. (DoB 1987) in Tbilisi, who was wanted for premeditated murder committed on September 11 of the current year in Guria region and illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms.
The committed crimes envision up to 15 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that on September 11, 2022, in Ozurgeti municipality, the detainee wounded G.R. (DoB1999) in the back area with a shot from a firearm and fled from the scene. The wounded man died in the hospital.
On September 13, 2022, V.G. was charged in absentia under Article 108 and Parts III and IV, Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, he was sentenced to imprisonment in absentia and a search warrant was issued on his name.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 108 and Article 236, Parts III and IV of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to premeditated murder and illegal acquisition, storage and carrying of firearms.
