As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of the Investigation and Detectives Division of Kakheti Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested R.L., born in 1967, with previous conviction, on charges of premeditated murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
The committed crime envisions up to 15 years in prison.
The investigation established that on May 11 of the current year, in Akhmeta Municipality, due to a mutual dispute, J.K. shot R.L. in the leg with a hunting rifle, after which the accused R.L. fatally wounded J.K. with a firearm.
The accused R.L. was taken to the clinic, where he is receiving appropriate treatment, while J.K. died at the scene.
The police seized the weapons of the crime - a hunting rifle and a pistol - as evidence.
The investigation is underway under Articles 108 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
