The officers of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 5 people for drug-related crimes as a result of operative-investigative activities, including a drug dealer.
As a result of the measures undertaken by the law enforcers in Kobuleti and Batumi, the following foreign citizens were detained: T.D. (DoB 1974) B.A (DoB 1993), V.K. (DoB 1989), O.P. (DoB 1993) and a citizen of Georgia - A.G.(DoB1999).
Law enforcement officers arrested B.A. in Batumi on charges of illegal purchase, keeping and selling drugs. The investigation established that detainee sold drugs illegally. During the personal search of B.A. the money obtained as a result of drug trafficking - more than 8000 GEL and 44 pills "Suboxone" were seized as evidence.
Police arrested the accused T.D. in Kobuleti municipality. During his personal search, 3 packages of methamphetamine-containing drugs were seized as evidence. The detainee is accused of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities.
As for A.G, who had been convicted in past, he was detained by the police in Batumi for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs. During his personal search, 10 packages of drug containing the substance "Alpha Pvp" were seized as evidence.
The law enforcers also detained V.K. and O.P. in Batumi for drug-related crime. As a result of their personal search and search activities held in detainees’ places of residence, 247 packages of drugs, including "Alpha-PVP", were seized as evidence.
The investigation established that V.K. And O.P. were responsible for displacement of drugs in specially selected places for further realization.
The committed crimes envisage 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
The investigation into the facts of illegal purchase, keeping and selling drugs is conducted under Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
