In the third reading, the Parliament of Georgia approved the package of amendments to the Law of Georgia "On Civil Security" prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
According to the changes, a special training center for firefighters and rescuers will be created within the Emergency Management Service system. The training center will be equipped with the appropriate infrastructure and material-technical base necessary for training of firefighters and rescuers, ensuring complete training and retraining of firefighters and rescuers.
At the moment, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is responsible for training firefighters and rescuers.
In addition to the mentioned, new forms of incentives for firefighters were defined on the legislative level. In particular, for exemplary performance of the official duties, for long and conscientious service, for the performance of a particularly difficult or important task, a firefighter-rescuer shall be awarded with a service badge as an incentive.
Herewith, the adopted law regulates the important issues related to the recruitment and service at the Emergency Situations Management Service.
