Implementing Partners: Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, Estonian Academy of Security Sciences, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
The main goal of the project is to develop the capacity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia in the sphere of combating domestic violence with specialized trainings and conference, in order to increase the efficiency of responses on the cases of Domestic Violence.
Specific objective:
- To establish a Domestic Violence protocol for law enforcement that will ensure consistency in law enforcement response to domestic violence nationwide;
- Increase awareness of domestic violence for all disciplines critical to the successful investigation and prosecution of domestic violence;
- Increase the general understanding of domestic violence as a community problem among law enforcement officers.
Main activities:
- organizing project managers meeting in Tbilisi;
- conducting train the trainers meeting in Tallinn;
- providing 15 two days regional trainings for the police officers and prosecutors;
- Organizing multi-disciplinary conference in Tbilisi.
