In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease, special working group, set up in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, held disinfection activities in various buildings belonging to the structural units of the Ministry located in Khaishi, Lenjeri, Ifari, Tsaishi, Ushuli, Mulakhi, Nakra, Tchuberi and Becho villages, including Border Police sector, watch towers of the Security Police and checkpoints arranged in Svaneti.
As part of preventive measures, police buildings, Security Police and Border Police workplaces located in Mestia Municipality have been treated with special disinfection solutions. The shared areas in police buildings and personnel rooms were disinfected as well.
In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, tents set up in the villages of Barja and Lenger in Mestia Municipality, where the police, together with the staff of the National Center for Disease Control conducts special registration of the civilians, have also been disinfected.
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and effective risk management, disinfection works are carried out regularly in the structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It should be noted, that the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs strictly follows recommendations of the World Health Organization as well as norms defined by the safety protocol, when working with citizens.
In parallel with disinfection activities, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue to inform citizens on quarantine restrictions in Mestia Municipality. Police also conducts escorting of citizens to the direction of quarantine zones located in different regions with full compliance of safety norms.
Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to remind citizens that, from August 10, based on the decision of Inter-Agency Coordination Council, due to high epidemiological risk, entry and exit from Mestia municipality was partially restricted. According to the Council decision, entrance to Mestia Municipality direction as well from the mentioned location is partially restricted, implying that entrance is permitted only to the local population. In case of leaving Mestia Municipality, citizens will have to undergo quarantine period.
