Within the frames of the official visit Prime-Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, Secretary of the state of the Ministry of Interior Karoly Kontrat and other officials arrived to Georgia.
Within the frames of the visit, Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Giorgi Mgebrishvili and Secretary of the state of the Ministry of Interior Karoli Kontrat have signed “Joint Statement on Cooperation in the Sphere of European Aspirations”.
According to the mentioned declaration Georgian and Hungarian Ministries of Infernal Affairs will share experience and best practices in the field of police reforming and fight against the organized crime, as it is defined by the EU policy.
Document is aimed at: making the existing cooperation even more intensified, planning and organizing joint activities, holding meetings between the experts as well as conferences and seminars.
Sides agreed to sign the document in April of 2016, during the meeting held between the Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili and Minister of Interior of Hungary Sandor Pinter. On May 6, 2016 Minister of Interior confirmed the unwavering support of the Hungarian side with the official letter on visa-free travel to the European Union.
