Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili opened annual donor coordination meeting.
Minister provided representatives of donor organizations and partner states with detailed information on planned and ongoing projects as well as on progress achieved in the Agency.
“First of all, I would like to thank our partner organizations, especially U.S Embassy and EU delegation in Georgia for greatly contributing to the development of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in various directions. As you know, Euro-Atlantic integration is the government's main foreign policy priority, thus reforms implemented in the Ministry are aimed at moving forward towards international standards. Our goal is to form solid institution that will fulfill its main functions properly: preserve public order and ensure safety, fight crime effectively and make prevention”-stated Minister.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili made special emphasis on the development of the agency on institutional level and on strengthening of investigative and preventive directions.
At the conference employees of International Relations Department have held presentation on implemented projects, needs analysis results of the various MIA departments, defined by short and long term priorities and various international commitments.
Conference was attended by representatives of international and non-governmental organizations, diplomatic missions and relevant agencies of the Georgian government.
