Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia visited the National Police Headquarter and met High Commissioner Mr. Kroly Papp within the framework of the official visit.
The Head of the Hungarian Police made a detailed presentation for the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia on the activities of the agency.
Mr. Kroly Papp provided Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili with the detailed information regarding the crime dynamics in Hungary, methods of identification of the existing problems, as well as measures carried out in the field of crime prevention.
At the meeting the parties discussed the issues of illegal migration as well as the issues of joint fight against it.
According to Mr. Kroly Papp, "the crime has no boundaries. Accordingly, those who are closed within the borders of their counties cannot succeed. Hungary is ready to share its experience in the fight against crime with Georgia. We will be happy with the future close cooperation with the Georgian side."
In his turn, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia stressed the importance of deepening the international police cooperation in fight against common challenges. Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili said that with 15 countries from 28 countries of the EU, including Hungary, Georgia has already signed the agreements on cooperation for combat and prevention crime .In recent years the Ministry of Internal Affairs sent police liaison officers to many European countries.
At the meeting the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the High Commissioner of the Hungarian National Police talked about the issues of traffic safety. Mr. Kroly Papp shared with Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili the experience of Hungary in this regard and said that in order to overcome this problem, not only the activities of police, but involvement and support of the entire community is needed.
The parties agreed on deepening and strengthening of close and multilateral cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of both countries.
Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili ended his official visit to Hungary.
