Within the frames of a working visit to Germany Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili had a meeting with Mr. Joachim Bertele, the Deputy Director of the Foreign, Security and Development Policy Department of the Federal Chancellor and Mr. Franz Neueder, the Deputy Director of European Policy Department.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Lado Chanturia, the Ambassador of Georgia in Germany, Mrs. Nino Kobakhidze, the Deputy Head of Administration of the Government of Georgia, Mr. Shalva Kvinikhidze, the Director of the International Relations Department of the MIA and other members of delegation.
The German side emphasized that among the Middle East Partnership countries Georgia is the most successful one. Mr. Joachim Bertele and Mr. Franz Neueder said that in terms of visa liberalization process there is some kind of fear related to a large flow of illegal migrants entering the country among the German society, however, this danger is inherently ill-founded.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia reiterated the importance of the European and Euro-Atlantic choice, saying that it is irreversible way. Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili said that the Government of Georgia is aware of caution practiced in Germany in terms of security. "That's why I met with all Ministers of the Federal Lands, where the citizens of Georgia had committed crimes. Speaking with my colleagues, we agreed to tighten preventive measures, exchange information in an intensive mode; besides, we have developed a specific and detailed action plan. We should jointly fight against the major challenge - organized crime "- said the Minister.
Mrs. Nino Kobakhidze, the Deputy Head of Administration of the Government of Georgia introduced to the German side the 4-point Governmental plan, which is oriented on progress and elimination of the core economic problems of the country. Mrs. Nino Kobakhidze provided to her German colleagues the detailed information about Georgia’s improved positions in international ratings.
