The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Giorgi Mgebrishvili met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Finland Paula Risikko.
According to Giorgi Mgebrishvili, development of bilateral cooperation with the Scandinavian countries is one of the priorities for Georgia, including the Republic of Finland.
On the other hand, the Finnish Interior Minister highlighted the agreement between Georgia and Europol on the operational and strategic partnership. According to him, this agreement is an important step forward on the path of Georgia's Euro-integration.
Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia introduced the current and planned reforms implemented in the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs to his Finnish counterpart.
The sides discussed the issues of deepening cooperation between the Ministries of Georgia and Ministry of Interior Finland, including the direction of public-oriented police and border security.
Finnish Interior Minister invited Georgian Interior Minister to Helsinki and received an official invitation from Tbilisi as well.
