The Department of Temporary Detention and Accommodation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received 20 Pulse Oximeters, 200 liters of surface disinfectant solution, medical hats and shoe covers from the local office of the Council of Europe. The purpose of the upper mentioned donation is to implement preventive measures in isolators against new coronavirus disease and provide effective medical service to detainees.
The Council of Europe has been assisting the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia for years in providing protection of the rights for detainees placed in isolators of the agency and improving access to medical care.
