On August 22, at 19:42 pm, Emergency Response Center “112” received report that fire broke out on the slope of the mountain covered with green plants located near to Zeda Boshuri village, Ateni gorge.
As soon as the report was received, Emergency Situations Management Agency mobilized dozens of fire-rescuers and special technic on the place. Military servicemen of the Ministry of the Defence of Georgia also got involved in the fire-extinguishing activities.
As a result of the efficient action plan of fire extinction, successful implementation and jointly held operative activities the fire, which was spread on 2ha land area, was localized in the shortest period of time, despite the difficult relief and weather conditions. The fire did not pose any danger to the populated area. No one was injured as a result of the fire.
At this moment the fire on the slope of the mountain in Ateni gorge has been extinguished.
