Anti-corruption Agency detained senior specialist of Saburtalo district for bribery
Officers of Anti-corruption Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained senior specialist of infrastructure department of Saburtalo municipality -Mikheil Kviria for bribery in especially large quantities.
Investigation established that on March 3 Mikheil Kiria accepted 10 000 USD as a bribe from citizens of India and Iraq in return for assisting in preparing and conducting auction regarding 63000 square feet land area owned by Saburtalo municipalaity, which was planned to be purchased by the mentioned citizens. For the mentioned service Mikheil Kiria demanded and received 10 000 US dollars as a bribe.Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribery, article 338, II part B sub-paragraph of the Criminal Code. The committed crime envisages from 7 to 11 years of imprisonment.
