Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani visited the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs along with his deputies. The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze - along with the Rector of MIA Academy - Zurab Zubadalashvili, and other representatives of the educational facility hosted the Ombudsman and his accompanying persons.
After the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and the leadership of the Academy, the Public Defender and his colleagues attended the presentation on the activities of the Academy and got familiarized with the basic directions of studies.
Within the framework of the meeting, an introductory tour was organized for the representatives of the Office of the Ombudsman. The Public Defender, along with the deputies, visited the training auditoriums located in the administrative building of the Academy, the simulated courtroom, examination and simulation training spaces, as well as the mock border crossing point and virtual shooting range.
At the end of the introductory meeting, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, the leadership of the Academy and the Ombudsman expressed their willingness to continue close cooperation between the Academy and the Office of the Public Defender in the field of human rights protection.
