Changes have been made to the Code of Administrative Offences which determined measures of punishment making law stricter against authors of false notification on terrorism on the line of “112” emergency center. Parents or guardians of under aged persons will be legally responsible in the following cases:
1. Parents or guardians of under aged (not more than 14 years) author of false notification on terrorism will be fined in the amount of 1500 GEL. In case of the repeated false notification during one year the amount of fine will be 2500 GEL.
2. Parents or guardians of under aged author (not more than 16 years) of false notification on terrorism will be fined from 100 to 300 GEL. In case of the repeated false notification during a year the amount of fine will reach 500 GEL. Call author will be legally responsible cases if:
1. The false call author is more than 14 years. In that case author of the false call will bear punishment with the restriction of freedom from 2 to 5 years or by corrective labor from one to two years in length. In case of the repeated false notification the author will be punished from 5 to 7 years of imprisonment, depending on circumstances.
2. For making systematic false notifications on the line of “112”, persons above 16 will be fined in the amount of 300 GEL.
In case of the repeated purposeless calls during the year the author will be fined in the amount of 400 GEL.
Authors of false notifications above 16 years will also be fined in the amount of 500 GEL.
In case of the repeated false notification made during 1 year the author will be fined in the amount of 1000 GEL or will be kept in administrative confinement up to 15 days.
It is also notable that in case of delivering false notification, citizens will not be legally responsible in case it the reason for making the call in “112” was subjective and incorrect evaluation of events prompting the author to report to relevant services.
