Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri opened new police building in Rustavi. The event was attended by the Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Director of Kvemo Kartli Police Department.
Construction of the third unit under Rustavi Police Main Division was implemented within the frames of Police Infrastructure Renovation project. The building fully complies with modern standards.
In the new police building up to 50 police officers will be employed, where detectives and investigators are provided with respective work spaces. Building also provides interrogation and spaces for identification, evidence storage room and gym for personnel. The new police building is fully adapted for people with special needs as well.
After visiting work spaces, Vakhtanag Gomelauri has held a working meeting with the leadership of the structural divisions of Kvemo Kartli region of the Ministry Internal Affairs and gave respective instructions.
Minister reviewed priority directions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and received comprehensive information from heads of the regional units on the recent situation in region. Vakhtang Gomelauri expressed his gratitude regarding active involvement of police and measures taken for combating new coronavirus disease. Minister Gomelauri also got acquainted with the measures taken to fight and prevent crime in the region and gave the relevant instructions to the staff regarding the work process.
Vakhtang Gomelauri also visited Rustavi branch of Unified Service Center and had a conversation with the officers of Kvemo Kartli Police Main Division.
Minister Gomelauri visited the base of Special Tasks Department and met with personnel.
