The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Vakhtang Gomelauri met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia, Ishizuka Hideki.
During the introductory meeting, Vakhtang Gomelauri congratulated to the Ambassador of Japan on his commencement of the diplomatic service in Georgia and wished him success.
The parties talked about the fruitful relations between Georgia and Japan and discussed further strengthening of the law enforcement cooperation.
Vakhtang Gomelauri thanked the Ambassador for the contribution of Japanese side to the capacity building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. In this regard, the parties highlighted on the successful projects implemented by the Japanese side for the support of the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. During the meeting, the parties emphasized on the importance of bilateral cooperation aimed at supporting the civil security sector. Vakhtang Gomelauri also drew attention to the productive cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their hope that the law enforcement cooperation and bilateral relations between the two countries will further be enhanced through joint efforts.
