The Coast Guard of Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs celebrates 25th Anniversary from its creation. The Head of MIA Border Police, Nikoloz Sharadze, together with the Director of the Coast Guard Department, Ramaz Papidze, congratulated the Coast Guard Day to the servicemen and women, in Poti, at the Coast Guard Base and awarded the employees for the exceptional Service.
“Georgian Coast Guard celebrates its 25th anniversary. Congratulations to this remarkable day to each of you! The Coast Guard of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs plays significant role in ensuring security of the country: Coast Guard Department implements the complex tasks in the maritime space regarding the maritime security and safety. I would like to underline, that Coast Guard Department is developing dynamically, which is a result achieved through your everyday hard work, support of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and International Partners.
Coast Guard meets its 25th anniversary with the accomplishments and big history. North Atlantic Alliance granted Georgia with Operational Partner Status to NATO-led Maritime Security Operation “SEA GUARDIAN”. We reached this important achievement as a result of successful accomplishment of NATO Evaluation’s four years program by the Georgian Coast Guard law enforcement tactical units. I would like to express gratitude to each of you for this great achievement. The Parliament of Georgia has ratified an International, Interagency Agreement regarding the participation in the Maritime security Operation “Sea Guardian” of the representatives of the Coast Guard Department of MIA Border Police and deployment of the Coast Guard Boarding Teams on the board of Hellenic Naval Vessels” – declared, Head of Border Police, Nikoloz Sharadze.
The Head of Border Police awarded 21 employees of the Coast Guard Department for the exceptional service and achieved successes.
