After meeting with the members of the Trust Group of the Parliament, Vakhtang Gomelauri answered the questions of the media.
“With the Trust Group we have, first of all, discussed the budget of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. Furthermore, we have talked about the secret procurements that are very small number compared to other law enforcement agencies. Furthermore, we have talked about what activities were planned and implemented in 2018-2019 and what are the plans for 2020, what is the Ministry going to procure and how is the budget allocated. Moreover, we have talked about the remuneration system: for how many employees has the salary been increased t in 2019 and what are the plans in 2020 regarding this issue.
We talked about the border issue too, as we have problems in several directions. For example, Azerbaijan case was discussed and the problem is almost solved.
However, we have the problem of demarcation and demilitarization with Armenia, it is a very time-consuming process and we do not expect it to be solved in one day. We are working on this issue. It was a closed format and of course we cannot talk about more details," – said Vakhtang Gomelauri.
