Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs - Vakhtang Gomelauri attended a coordination headquarters meeting in Guria region, led by the Prime Minister - Irakli Kobakhidze.
The meeting of the coordination headquarters established to deal with the consequences of the natural disaster in Western Georgia was also attended by President Mikheil Khavelashvili, members of the Cabinet of Ministers and representatives of other agencies.
The meeting focused on the work carried out to eliminate the challenges created by the heavy snowfall and determined further measures.
Vakhtang Gomelauri, together with the Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service - Temur Mghebrishvili, also visited the Emergency Situations Management Headquarters in the disaster zone and received detailed information on the ground from the headquarters members.
Various units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including firefighters and rescuers, together with representatives of relevant agencies, continue to operate in an emergency regime in western Georgia due to heavy snowfall.
