A new rescue team of the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has arrived in Turkey. The mentioned group replaced the firemen and rescuers, who were carrying out liquidation and rescue operation in the city of Adiyaman.
Heads of the operational headquarters of the Georgian rescue forces and specialized rescuers still remain in Turkey.
In the city of Adyaman, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, the former ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia - Fatma Ceren Yazgan expressed gratitude towards Georgian rescuers for their service.
After coordination with the Turkish side, a new task of the Georgian rescue team was defined, according to which 100 Georgian rescuers will carry out liquidation and rescue operation in the city of Antakya, Hatay province.
The rescue team is equipped with modern acoustic devices, drones, communication vehicle and other relevant special rescue equipment.
According to the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia, the rescue team is involved in the liquidation and rescue measures of the consequences of the earthquake in the Republic of Turkey.
